In a classic Maximalista move, I began my Monday morning doing one thing… and ended up down a rabbit hole doing something else entirely. (Squirrel!)
Today, I wanted to set the table for St. Patrick’s Day. Mr Maximalista was making corned beef brisket; my contribution was to make the table look purty. I did a grand job, I think!

Anyway, it was after I took the pictures to share online that I fell down the aforementioned rabbit hole. Because I decided that today would be the perfect day to learn how to create a QR code… what was I THINKING?!
If you are, like me, interested in doing new things but terrified of screwing up, well let me help you out. Please allow me to do the screwing up for you, so you can learn from my mistakes.
My Pro Tip: if you are ever unsure how to do something, I suggest you head on over to trusty old YouTube.com to find out how to do it. Need to replace a headlight bulb in your car? There’s a YouTube video for that. Don’t know how to baste a Guineafowl or fry a tarantula? Yup, YouTube.
Any time I need to learn how to do a thing, I head on over to YouTube to help me out.

Today’s example? I have been putting off creating QR codes for my online stuff. Not procrastinating from laziness, gentle reader, but from plain old bog standard FEAR. Yes, I am mildly afraid of technology. Not because I’m profoundly stupid or anything; I’m simply frit of it.
Then, compounding the fear there is the fury. I don’t mind admitting that I get extremely frustrated when something doesn’t work the first time I try to do it. Increasingly so, after the second or third attempt.
At which point I hand it over to Mr Maximalista. Who does EXACTLY what I did the first time, yet it inexplicably seems to always work for him. The first time. Extremely irritating.
So today, you can imagine my glee when I was successful in my attempt to create my first ever QR code! Without any help from my patient and long-suffering husband! *pats self on back*

Wishing you a stress-free and happy Monday! Tomorrow’s Travel Tuesday blog will be about my trip to New Orleans for the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, back in 2022.
In the meantime, I hope your St. Patty’s shenanigans are safe shenanigans.
Lots of love,
