The English Maximalista

One recent evening, as I was lamenting to my nearly-empty wine glass about feeling generally unfulfilled in life [crocodile tears prompted by a recent milestone birthday] and misunderstood by everyone in this cruel world, my lovely hubster surprised me with his idea that maybe I should start a… lifestyle blog!?

He painted a tantalizing picture of how I could seduce my readers with pictures of my home improvement projects; pretty soon, my gentle readers would be convulsing with mirth at my dry English witticisms, as I share with the world the trials and tribulations of a 5’2”, 115 lb handywoman. 

“Gosh,” I said, “what a marvelous idea!” Clearly, I was mildly tipsy.

He then astonished me further by suggesting we call the blog The English Maximalist. Perfect!! But me being, well… ME, I immediately took it one step fancier, insisting we add the letter A on the end.

And thus, The English Maximalista was born!

So, here is my first blog. I do hope you’ll follow my progress as I decorate our new home in Colorado. I would also love for you to join me as we explore the region, maybe even share a few recipes, and watch as I try to NOT kill all the new plants we are putting in the garden…

(Spoiler alert: there are a lot of mistakes made, the dog is usually sleeping RIGHT WHERE I need to be, and a fair few expletives are regularly dropped.)
